It’s hard not to have hot water. Luke warm at best, I want it scalding. I need the burn. Looking red and feeling raw and almost out of breath by the time I step out, left palm gripping the vanity to steady myself. Eyes close as a brown out comes, goes. Throbbing pruned fingers further distort a condensation screened face. Hate what I see, but at least I feel something.
